Care Guide

Block Prints

We strive to produce timeless garments that stand the test of time.The way we care for our garments is very important to achieve this.

Think about using less chemicals and energy, and more about working with
natural cleaning methods.

-Delicate machine cycle or hand wash at no more than 30 degrees.

-Use non-enzyme/non-biological washing powder or liquid.

-Do not tumble dry.

-Wash dark colours separately.

Indigo, how to wash;

Overtime the indigo dye will fade, beautifully. Because the indigo does not penetrate through the whole of the cotton in the dying process, there will be colour rub at first. We recommend hand washing any indigo items before wearing. Wash as per instructions above.

How to dry & store;

Cotton is best dried flat or hanging to prevent the need of ironing.  Hang your item away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.

For linen we suggest line drying  We like linen for its crumpled, worn-in feel but if you would rather non-creased then iron your garment inside out and whilst damp.  Avoid extremely high temperatures, as this can scorch linen fibers.

Wool

Soft yarns are liable to pill to some extent, even when using those of the best quality. Remove any pills using a pilling comb and protect from sharp items or jewellery that may rub.

Our handmade knitwear may have slight differences in each item. As with our BANJAARA clothing, these subtle differences are what make our garments truly unique and special.

We recommend that you hang and air our knitwear, rather than washing them too frequently to avoid overstretch. Our pure sheep’s wool has incredible odour resisting properties. To remove stains, consider gently applying warm water by hand only.
